ECOCERT proposes the certification of your textiles made with organic grown materials according to the Organic Content Standard. The aim of this standard is to guarantee the tractability and integrity of the raw materials during all the manufacturing stages. Note: logo used here (OCS 100 logo) is only for product that contains 95% or more organic material. OCS blended logo is used for products that contain 5% minimum of organic material blended with conventional or synthetic raw materials. Organic cotton has proven to be better than the default conventional cotton due to the lower use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers as well as smaller water footprint. What this certification does best is trace where your organic cotton is coming from. This is particularly important because as of last year more organic cotton was sold than was produced. How? from counterfeit cotton certifying where your cotton comes from helps to ensure that the workers are not exposed to toxins, nearby communities are not affected by water scarcity and most important to be sure legitimate workers on fields and in mills are being treated fairly and with dignity.
