I believe designers and CEOs of companies have the ability to create real change. I know that designers want to do more but they are often restricted due to cost or lack of information. I developed this website to help designers know what issues are in their industry (conversation corner). As well as where to look for new materials, certifications or consultation (Discover section).
I believe designers and CEOs of companies have the ability to create real change. I know that designers want to do more but they are often restricted due to cost or lack of information. - The goal of this project is to help bring the industry's designers together to solve the challenge of ethical production. In our creative corners we can only do so much but together we can change the world. I hope this platform aids in educating designers to source ethically and environmentally conscious products.
- The impact of this project on human rights comes in the form of teaching designers how sustainable materials need to account for the planet, people and future. The fashion supply chain is long and complicated and this website shows the different pathways that should be explored to have a truly fair and safe industry.
- Advancing human rights in the fashion industry will have to start with brand and CEO initiative. But once the commitment comes, it is up to designers to implement the changes. This means they must know what issues they are facing, what other companies are doing and, what resources are available to them. Designers contribute to 80% of a garment ability to be sustainable, they have the power to change how the world looks at fashion.
