Since its introduction in 1992, the central focus of the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® has been the development of test criteria, limit values and test methods on a scientific basis. This is used to regulate harmful chemicals that currently have no regulations. The OEKO-TEX® label indicates the additional benefits of tested safety for skin-friendly clothing and other textiles to interested end users. This certification is important to ensure the product we make are not just meeting regulations to allow for sale but to be sure what we are producing is not harming the environment or those who work closely with our products. Metals can contain lead, dyes contain mercury, tanneries flow bleach into water systems together this is a recipe for disaster and we must use standards like Oeko-tex created to be sure our products are safe for consumers and workers alike.
